About Us

Gordi's FamilyGordi’s is a family owned and operated restaurant established in 1986 in the town of Lincoln nestled in the White Mountains of New Hampshire. Surrounded by the mountains we enjoy the seasons with many things to do. Loon Mtn is just a mile or so up the street and Cannon Mtn is about 10 miles from us just off I 93. Offering great skiing and riding in the winter and many hiking and biking trails in the spring, summer, and fall this area is a great place to visit. Gordi’s is happy to refuel all our visitors as they enjoy their stay in the White Mountains! Our extensive menu caters to every appetite and wallet.

Gordi’s Fish & Steak House came to be because 4 people, Muffy & Bob Copenhaver and Gordi & Karen Eaton, had an idea to open a restaurant together and each one brought something different and useful to the table. Bob and Gordi grew up across the street from each other in Littleton, NH and are best of friends. Bob joined the US Army as an Airborne Ranger and studied economics at UNH where he met his future wife, Muffy Docos, who was studying Hotel/Restaurant Administration. Gordi grew up skiing Cannon Mtn and joined the US ski team in 1960 and studied Geography at Middlebury College in Vermont. He competed in the downhill in both the 1960 & 1964 Olympics. Gordi later coached the 1968 & 1972 Olympic ski teams where he met his future wife, fellow Olympic ski racer, Karen Budge, of Jackson Hole, Wyoming. In 1971 Muffy opened a restaurant in Littleton called the Lobster Tub, the birthplace of what you now know as our famous Fish & Chips in 1978! The Lobster Tub was quite successful but with traffic bypassing the business because of the new highway Muffy and Bob decided to move the business to Lincoln. They knew the town at the base of Loon Mountain was growing and about to flourish. In 1985 the two of them talked to Karen & Gordi about going into business together, an offer Karen & Gordi could not refuse. The 4 of them spent months going to restaurants whipping out tape measures, sizing out booths, talking to managers, (much to the chagrin of their embarrassed children) gathering knowledge so they could put together a beautiful restaurant with great food and a comfortable and inviting feel for all their guests. Those embarrassed children, Zoe, Abby, & Chris, helped to stain walls and sand rough edges and when the doors opened the three of them at the ages of 10,12,& 9 respectively, were there bussing tables alongside their parents.  No longer embarrassed, but proud to be a part of Gordi’s. We truly are a family run business and we feel as though our staff and guests become a part of that family as they spend time with us. The theme here focuses on the skiing careers of Gordi and Karen with their old ski bibs, memorabilia, and best of all the pictures that span decades of ski racing cover the walls in our Olympic Pub. In the fall of 1986 after lots of hard work we opened our doors and we have been happy to open them every day since for over 25 years! With Muffy’s great business sense & restaurant knowledge, Karen’s tireless work ethic and ability to envision things before they come to fruition, Gordi’s constant puttering around and ability to fix or construct just about anything, and Bob’s vast knowledge of plumbing & heating and how a business should be run, this was a perfect combination for success and the 4 of them work impressively well together. The proof is the result, Gordi’s Fish and Steak House! We welcome you to join our family for lunch and dinner and please feel free to wander around and look at all the great pictures on the walls and best of all enjoy our great food and friendly service!
