General Manager Bob Shaw has been a part of our Gordi’s family since 1990. He began his restaurant career as a bus person and dishwasher. Eager to work and learn Bob quickly moved up the ranks and became a valued line cook. Bob worked summers full-time throughout high school and college. His senior year at Merrimack College, where he studied business administration concentrating on marketing, we were short a line cook. So every weekend Bob made the commute and the commitment to Gordi’s to cook for us. In 1996 Bob Shaw graduated from Merrimack College. Around the same time our first and only other manager of 10 years had decided to move away from the area leaving the general manager position open. Bob was quickly offered a position as assistant manager. After a two day training course with our previous manager and a couple weeks with Karen and Muffy, Bob was offered the general management postion in the Fall of 1996. We are so happy and lucky that he took the position. Bob’s management style is like no other. He wears many hats here, bartender, cook, waiter, host, counselor, boss, mediator, and friend. Bob leads by example and you will never hear him complain or grumble about his job. Bob has earned and gets the respect he deserves from both his employees and his bosses. He is a huge part of why and how Gordi’s runs as smoothly as it does. Bob Shaw is married and has two young boys. He is an avid skier/ ski racer, and in the summer enjoys playing tennis.
Kitchen Manager Joseph Benedetto began his career here at Gordi’s in 1998 at the age of 19. A graduate of Lin-Wood High School, Joe grew up in the area. He started here as a fry cook. Joe soon moved his way up and was helping to run the line in no time. In 2003 Joe became the kitchen manager. He is always looking for new and exciting items to add to the menu or run as specials. He utilizes the web daily in search of these ideas. Joe is in charge of the ordering of our food and he takes pride in what he does and it shows. He always gets the freshest seafood and best cuts of beef around. You can see Joe’s attention to detail in every dish he prepares and serves to our guests. We are very happy to have Joe on our team.
Bar Manager Lindsey Wilkins has worked at Gordi’s since 2003. Her starting position here was as a waitress in the dining room. She did a great job and always had a smile on her face. She worked for us as she attended Plymouth State College. After she graduated with a degree in developmental psychology in 2006, Lindsey was ready for a change of scenery, so hoping not to loose her, she was offered a job as a bartender, and trained by our previous bar manager. Lindsey was fast and picked up on how to make all the drinks with no problem. She quickly became a favorite with our regulars and other guests, with her quick wit, super smile, and charm. When our previous bar manager decided to move away from the area in 2009 Lindsey was quickly tapped for the position. Happily she took it and we have enjoyed her behind our bar ever since. Come on into our Olympic Pub and enjoy a beverage and a visit with her. Lindsey is currently engaged and planning her wedding.
